About This Research

Similar to the citizens ability to arrest someone or detain someone until the police arrive, is the ability to audit how Trust worthiness of  organisations in their use of surveillance.  This research explores the information sharing relationships in video surveillance. Along the way issues have been appealed and escalated to the Information Commissioner Office, who has ordered Hammersmith and Fulham to produce the locations and coverage of video surveillance in the borough.

A field research event was held on Aug 22nd, 2009 in Hammersmith, London. Along with numerous Freedom Of Information requests which establishes a phenomena of illegal CCTV signage.  First measured and reported by McCahill and Norris in 2002.  Subsequently a thesis has been produced on compliance, trust and contextual integrity.   This thesis is currently being explored, reported, and developed.
